Woman drowns, man missing after late-night swim

Emergency services were called to Kurrawa Beach in Broadbeach about 10.15pm after a woman’s body washed up on the beach. The search for the man resumed early on Friday morning, with the Rescue 500 Helicopter assisting. Water police have also joined the search for the missing man, while local officers are conducting patrols on the beach in police buggies in an effort to locate him.

It’s understood the man and woman were seen in CCTV footage earlier on Thursday…
